What a great way to start the morning with not one, but three moose enjoying the wolf willow shrubs at Eagle Bear Lodge. The older mother moose is starting to get comfortable with having her picture taken, thank you mother moose for a great photo shoot.
What a great way to end to the BC Landscapes and Wildlife Photo Workshop this week with a visit from our two female moose. I finally got the chance to photograph these amazing animals this morning. You never know what wildlife will greet you when you are in the mountains located 3800 feet above sea level at Eagle Bear Lodge.
This week we were happy to receive 12 inches of snow. Eagle Bear Lodge and cabins are looking like a winter wonderland. We are expecting more snow this week, ideal for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and winter landscape and wildlife photography. After an active day, warm up with a hot chocolate by the fireplace. Lots to see and do in winter at Eagle Bear Lodge.
What a lovely sight to see! Not one, but TWO Great Grey Owls within 5 minutes drive from each other. Located on a tree top on the side of Hwy 20, just around the corner from Eagle Bear Lodge. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera with me, but I still enjoy seeing these incredible owls. Below David Hemming's photo of a great grey owl. Want to see these owls and more? We have a new winter guest at Eagle Bear Lodge. Cute as a button, this ermine has decided to create a home along the nature trail by the horse paddocks. Lots to see and do at Eagle Bear Lodge. www.eaglebearlodge.com
For the last few weeks, we have had a colorful visitor at the feeders. Look's like this bird belongs down south in the tropics with his bright yellow feathers. Lots of great winter birding at Eagle Bear Lodge. www.eaglebearlodge.com
